Beloved Olive U, American yellow labrador retriever, passed away quietly at home with her loved ones at 3pm on Sunday June 9th, 2019 at the age of 15 years, 4 months, and 7 days. She was born on Tuesday 02/03/04 at Harrison kennel in Trinity, Alabama. Olive U had many nicknames including Olive, Oly, Miss Ol, Miss Olive, Oil (Anne), Petunia,Oly B’ Golly (and the Binks), Cutie Pa Tooty, My Peach, Good Girl, Sweets, Goodie, Kimmy, and Tammy. Owners John and Anne- Marie Murphy along with trainers and caregivers David and Adam Jacques were her best friends along with Nancy, Kate, Emily, Mel, Coach Carron, everyone at the therapy pool, and custodians, groundskeepers at Ponaganset High School. Olive U shared a wonderful life with her late siblings Katie Binks, her big sister the late Sandy Cheeks Waterwalker, as well as cats Zippy and LU. Some of Olive U’s favorite toys were tennis balls (not thrown very far, she liked to play shortstop), along with her frisbees thrown high enough to catch in mid-air. Her favorite activities were walking on the trail and training every day in the field with her two sisters Sandy Cheeks and Katie Binks, receiving treats from everyone at the school, and just floating at the therapy pool. She was truly a Lab and at her best when she was soaking wet. More of her hobbies included pulling John on skis, fetching and finding in the woods and in the field, visiting and playing with the kids at the school, walks in the woods and just taking in the smells, riding in the car with John, laying in the snow on the back deck and laying by John’s feet in the evening. Her Favorite place to sleep was under the coffee table (Olive’s cave), and her favorite food was people food, small pieces of chocolate and anything John was eating. Miss Olive was a very easy dog to live with and to train; she was very gentle and loyal. Olive was always the first dog out of the woods on her way back when John blew the whistle. I fondly remember the day she carefully alerted me to a Newborn fawn she found in the woods. I will always remember the happy look on her face as I pulled her around in her cart (the Oli cart). She was so happy to be visiting places she used to frequent when she could no longer walk to them. She will be truly missed and forever loved.

Thank-you for being my very loyal friend. Olive U, what a great name! I will miss you and love you, Sandy and Katie every day, until the end of time, and forever. LOVE LOVE LOVE”
