On July 26th, 2021 beloved pet/family member, 9 year old Leopard Tortoise, Gwen Smith crossed Rainbow Bridge. Gwen was adopted on February 20th, 2012 by pet parent Ashley Smith at Pure Paradise Pets in Johnston, Rhode Island. Besides her pet mom Ashley, Gwen is survived by siblings Red footed tortoise Bradley, cat Hewey and cat Ruca. Gwen loved to leisurely roam the outdoors, eat very particular types of grass, until eventually finding a quiet private nook to cool off in. She also enjoyed basking under her heat lamp. Gwen's favorite place to sleep was under her heat lamp or in whatever secluded little spot she'd find outside. Her favorite foods were definitely strawberries and dandelions! Mom Ashley favorite memories of Gwen will always be; moving Gwen into her muuuuch larger, new tortoise table made by Ashley's grandfather Bill; when Ashley's grandparents Bill and Marie would spoil Gwen with extra strawberries and dandelions, and her time spent outside when it was warm enough.
