Obituary For Bailey Crossman

Bailey was born on January 6, 2006 in Tiverton Rhode Island and passed peacefully at his home at the age of 10 on April 27, 2016. Bailey was a large handsome, intelligent, goofy and fluffy golden retriever who liked to be called many names such as; Willy, Bailes, Turtle, William, and lil nugget.

Bailey first met his dad Frederick at the Rhode Island Flower Convention at five weeks old and finally went home with him at seven weeks. Baileys mom, Ashley, always made sure to take great care of Bailey by brushing him and bringing him to monthly visits to the groomers.

Other family members include Baileys sister Gracie who is a small shit-zu, his grandpa, and Domenic. His best friends were other family pets like Rosy and Calvin who now rest peacefully along with grandma and uncle Eddie.

Bailey had many favorite toys and was thrilled whenever anyone brought him a new one home. His first favorite was a stuffed duck that he had worn down over time. Another was his stuffed turtle that he would carry around in his mouth everywhere, hence where he got his nickname. Also, empty water bottles were one of his favorites because he liked the crackle sound they made. Oh, and we cant forget the tennis ball that resulted in the mutilple soccer tournaments in the kitchen against dad and mom.

Willys favorite thing to do was go for a walk at the field at Brigham Farm at Turner Reservoir. It didnt really matter where he was going as long as he was close to dad and mom. He didnt even mind doing household chores; he would follow dads side as he would cut the lawn. Bailey loved car rides and going to the beach. He didnt like the water much but if dad and mom were in he was right by their side. That was Baileys least favorite thing, being away from from his parents. What he loved most was being close to his family whom he loved.

Even though Bailey was not allowed table food mommy would always slip him some sweet potatoes or watermelon which he loved. Also if you mentioned the word treats or cookies he would be up and ready to give you his paws for a tasty reward.

Some favorite memories of Bailey that everyone will miss are his floppy soft golden fluff at the top of his ears and his beautiful big brown eyes that would stare back at you with love and compassion. Bailey was a loyal friend and had the most friendly and sweet personality. Although he was protective over his family he was the most gentle and kind dog you could ever know.

Memories with Bailey will always be cherished especially the excited greetings when dad and mom came home from work, or the way he would sometimes patiently wait with his cute face peeking through the coffee shop window at seven stars bakery for dad and mom to finish placing their breakfast order. But mostly those walks through Birgham Farm at Turner Resevoir will be missed as Bailey scurried up and down the old dirt paths, but never letting dad and mom too far out of sight. His soul will be seen in every rising and setting of the sun that overlooks that protected conservation land, and when the wind blows we will all know it is Bailey peacefully galloping in those grass covered fields. We love and miss you and will forever cherish the immense love, joy, and loyalty you filled our lives with.

Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa, Gracie, and Domenic and all those who were touched by your awesome personality.

A "GOLDEN" GOOD-BYE To our Golden Retriever, Bailey I sit and try to write the words, I want your heart to hear. Hoping to find some comfort, in the fact that your not here. I look out into the open field, that you once occupied, Knowing now that field is empty, because my love, you've died. I do believe with all my heart, that your soul has gone to be, With all the other angel dogs, that you were meant to see. We will have to stay behind, until God calls us too, So do not be afraid, that he's only called for you. The water is still, in the pond that you played, And your bed is so empty, where your handsome head laid. Our bed is too empty, where you once laid between, the two people who LOVED you and now only dream, That one day our eyes will shut one last time, and you will come greet us, angel of mine. Until then, I'll keep trying to see through my tears, with memories you left us, to reflect through the years. We'll never forget one minute we spent, of loving and laughing, of places we went. And I dread the day that your scent disappears, for it's "proof" to me, Bailey, that you were just here! But one day will come, when we'll start to see through, the pain of the moment, and remember just "you". Now you go and play, and look down when you can, remembering we love you, and this isn't the end.
