Obituary For Duke Gonsalves

On December 19 2022, Christine and Ashley Gonsalves lost the patriarch of the ferret clan, Duke. Named after the infamous "dook" sound that ferrets make when excited, because from the second we brought him home, he was the happiest little man and would hop and "dook" his way all around the house. He was also commonly referred to as Sir Duke of Warren, Dukey Dukes, and Chunko Man. Born on February 14 2016, he was our little Valentine's day baby and he did not skimp on the love he supplied. Though he only saw 6 beautiful years on this earth, he certainly made it an exciting and joyous 6 years. He will be remembered for his love of stealing oven mits out of the kitchen cabinets and stashing them inside the couch. The only thing that came close to his love of oven mits, was his favorite pink Kong toy that he stowed behind the microwave cart every night. He leaves behind his ferret family, his sisters Gerry, Stubbs, Miss Beans and his brother Murray. Duke would never pick a favorite sibling but nothing beat snuggling with Gerry after a long play session. His favorite place in the world to take a nap was at the very bottom of the ferret pig pile, with all his friends snuggled on top. There's not much Duke disliked in this world, but unexpected bath times were certainly not the highlight of his day. It's hard to name a favorite memory because every day spent with Duke was a blessing and he was the sweetest boy we ever could've asked for. He will certainly leave an unfillable void with both his human and ferret families. Rest in the sweetest peace sweet boy, we love you and we'll see you soon.
