On July 5th 2023, Christine and Ashley Gonsalves said goodbye to Gerry. At 7 years old, she lived a very long and fulfilling life surrounded by love from both her human and ferret family. Gerry's best friend in the world was Duke, who we unfortunately lost in December. She would follow him around the house like his little shadow, play with him for hours, then cuddle with him and clean his ears when it was time for bed. They loved putting their harnesses on and going on an adventure at the park or even just in the backyard together. Duke was extremely lonely and depressed before he met little Gerry. We brought her home and he instantly fell in love with her and they were inseparable ever since. They loved each other unconditionally and I find comfort in knowing that they're back together again. Though Duke was her favorite, she loved all her ferret friends the same. You could always find her at the bottom of the cuddle pile in their hammocks and grooming at least one of them. She did not have a harmful bone in her body and was the absolute sweetest soul, always looking to give kisses and cuddles to everyone. Affectionately nicknamed "Gerry Long Toes" for her long alien looking little toes. She also had one foot that would always turn inwards when she would stop and stare at you. Her favorite toy, unfortunately, was our bearded dragon Stan Lee, though unharmed I still don't think the feeling was mutual for him. She leaves behind her ferret siblings, Murray, Stubbs, and Miss Beans, as well as her 2 human moms. We will all miss you beyond comprehension, Gerry. Rest in the sweetest peace and tell Duke we said hi, we love you
