Obituary For Harper Hancock

With heavy hearts and endless love, the Hancock Family announces the passing of their beloved Harper, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 30, 2026, at the age of nine.

Born in Georgia on September 11, 2016, Harper found her forever home with Renee and Erek Hancock after the heartbreaking loss of Renee's sister, Leah Howe. From the moment Harper entered their lives, she filled their home with comfort, laughter, loyalty and unconditional love.

Known affectionately as Harps, Harpees, Harper Marper, Flarper, she was a one-of-a-kind Pit Bull mix whose personality was larger than life. Harper shared her home with her siblings, Chloe and Amber, and treasured her special bond with her best friend, Uncle Chris.

Harper's favorite things in life were simple but meaningful. She loved carrying around her well-worn Y bone and rope toys, going for walks in the park, playing with her humans, and happily chewing away the hours. She had a a particular weakness for cheese and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a tasty treat. While she adored her family, strangers were not among her favorite people, and she strongly objected to people covering their face in front of her because when they did, she couldn't give them a million kisses.

When it came time to rest, Harper's favorite place was tucked snugly beneath the covers on the big bed, close to the people she loved most.

The memories Harper leaves behind will be cherished forever. Her family will always smile when they remember her playful games of peekaboo through the hole in a blanket and her hilarious habit of stealing Mama's hair towel, only to rub herself all over it with pure delight. These little moments captured Harper's mischievous spirit and brought endless laughter to those around her.

Harper was more than a pet - she was family, a faithful companion, a source of comfort and a a beloved friend.

Run free, sweet Harper. May there always be endless blankets to burrow under, rope toys to tug and cheese to enjoy. You will be missed beyond measure and loved forever.
