Obituary For Maggie Mae Sovet

In Loving Memory of Maggie Mae Sovet November 14, 2011 – June 16, 2025 With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved Maggie Mae Sovet, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2025, at the age of 13.

Born in Wakefield, Rhode Island, and spending her life in Warwick, Rhode Island, Maggie was much more than a dog—she was family, a best friend, a constant companion, and the heart of every room she entered. Known affectionately by many names, including Maggie, Mags, Magnadoodle, Magalicious, Baby Girl, Monster, and, when she was being particularly mischievous, Magatha Mae, she filled every day with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

Maggie's greatest love was her mom, Jeannine. They shared life's everyday adventures together. Whether it was long walks, beach days, quiet evenings, or simply being in the same room, Maggie always wanted to be by her mom's side. When Jeannine was away, Maggie would patiently sit and stare down the hallway, waiting for the moment her favorite person would walk back through the door.

Another special bond in Maggie's life was with her human nephew, Beckett. From the day they met, there was an undeniable connection between them. Born only eight months apart, they grew up side by side, sharing a friendship filled with love, excitement, and countless happy memories. The mere mention of Beckett's name would send Maggie running to the door, tail wagging furiously, eager to greet her best buddy.

Maggie also held a special place in her heart for Gam Gam, whose table scraps were always appreciated; her aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews, who all loved her dearly; and for her beloved animal friends Loki, Heli, Angel, and Andy Boy.

She was famous for her persistent communication style. If Maggie wanted something, she would first sit and stare. If that didn't work, she'd nudge you with her nose. If you still didn't understand, a paw to the arm would follow. Once you finally guessed correctly—whether she wanted food, water, a treat, or a potty break—she would leap up in excitement and bark her approval.

Maggie approached life with enthusiasm, especially when food was involved. Ice cream, pizza bones, popcorn, and just about anything edible brought her joy— though surprisingly, peanut butter never quite won her over. Her favorite activities included long walks through Rocky Point and Goddard Park, rolling in the sand at South Kingstown Town Beach and East Matunuck Beach, and making new friends wherever she went. Maggie never met a stranger, and believed every person she encountered might have a treat waiting for her.

Maggie had a remarkable memory when it came to treats. During walks, she remembered every person who had ever offered her a snack and every house where it happened. She would stop and patiently stare, convinced another treat might be coming. More than once, her walks turned into a series of determined standoffs, requiring her mom to physically carry her past her favorite "treat houses."

One of Maggie's most beloved tricks was her famous "Tuck and Roll." At the command, she would tuck her head, perform a somersault, and roll happily from side to side on her back through the lush green grass, delighting everyone lucky enough to witness it.

Her favorite toy was Lamby, her cherished Lamb Chop collection, which eventually grew to six or seven beloved versions. She was equally famous for her enthusiastic kisses. If your face came anywhere near hers, a warm, wet tongue was almost guaranteed to find you—even in the middle of the night.

When it came to sleeping, Maggie was quite the character. She often slept on her back with one or two legs sticking straight up in the air, and when she curled up in her doggie bed, she was usually half on and half off. It was one of her many adorable quirks that never failed to make us laugh.

Maggie leaves behind a home filled with beautiful memories, countless stories, and a love that will never fade. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are grateful for every wag of her tail, every sandy beach day, every laugh she inspired, every slobbery kiss, and every moment we were blessed to spend with her.

The paw prints Maggie Mae left on our hearts can never be erased. Her love was unconditional, her spirit unforgettable, and her place in our family eternal.

Run free, sweet Maggie Mae. Stroll on the beaches, roll in the greenest grass, find every treat house along the way, and know that you will be loved and missed every single day until we meet again.

No longer by our side, but forever in our hearts… ❤🐾❤
