With heavy hearts and immense love, we celebrate the life of our beloved Oreo, affectionately known as “Gattino”, who peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 25, 2026 at the incredible age of 20 years old.

Born on May 21, 2006, in Seekonk, Massachusetts, Oreo came into the lives of his loving family - Cindy, John and Christina Resendes. He was also adored by his human sibling Elaina and his beloved bunny companions, Cocoa and Lily.

Oreo was a tuxedo cat with a personality as handsome as his striking black-and-white coat. Brave, resilient and endlessly loving, he had a way of making every ordinary day feel extraordinary. Whether he was stretched out in the sunshine, taking leisurely walks outdoors, or curled up for one of his famous naps, Oreo found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

His treasured rainbow elephant was never far from his side. He proudly carried it throughout the house and lovingly presented it to his family as if it were the greatest gift in the world.

He loved lounging in all of his favorite spots: basking in front of the sliding glass door, curling up on Mom's bed, resting comfortably on Dad's lap or watching the world from the top of the couch by the window.

Oreo delighted in celebrating life's special occasions. Birthdays, holidays, and especially Halloween when he patiently wore costumes that made everyone around him smile.

Countless snuggles, quiet afternoons in the grass and simply being by each other's side became the moments that meant the most. For twenty years, Oreo showed his family what unconditional love, courage and unwavering devotion truly looked like. He faced life with quiet strength and left behind a lifetime of unforgettable memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. Oreo showed true strength and resilience after almost passing away in a bad house fire in 2019. Where he fought odds and came out brave on the other side.

Though the house feels quieter now, the love Oreo gave will never fade. His paw prints are forever etched upon the hearts of his family and his memory will continue to bring comfort, smiles and gratitude for they remarkable life they were blessed to share.
