Obituary For Penny Lane Fortier

Penny Lane

June 18, 2013 - September 18, 2026

Penny Lane, affectionately known as Pen Pen, Pen Doo, Penny Girl, and simply Penny, was a one-of-a-kind girl who lived 13 wonderful years filled with love, laughter and personality.

Born in Swansea, Massachusetts, Penny was the beloved girl of Nadia and Nathan Fortier. She shared her life with her family and her siblings, Gianna, Graysen, and Sophie, who was not only her sister but also her very best friend. Penny had a personality all her own. Penny was a dog who adored her family and wanted nothing more than to be right beside them. Her favorite place to sleep at night was with her mom, while daytime naps were reserved for Sophie. Wherever her family was, that was where Penny wanted to be.

Penny loved the simple pleasures of life: car rides with her head hanging out the window, walks, playing fetch with sticks-especially sticks that were somehow bigger than she was - food, belly rubs, and being with her people. She loved her sticks, Reece's squeaky toy, and she was an unapologetic foodie who would happily eat almost anything. Toward the end, some of her greatest culinary treasures were Wendy's chicken nuggets and a vanilla Frosty.

Some of the most treasured memories of Penny are the little things that made her uniquely Penny. She had a special way of putting her paws on your shoulders. pressing her face against yours and giving you her version of a hug. She gave the sweetest kisses and cuddles and had a way of making you feel completely loved.

There was also the unforgettable way she would jump so high when her family came home, she nearly flipped over with excitement. And no matter how small the space, Penny would somehow find the tiniest crevice and squeeze herself into it just so she could be close to you. She didn't need much room-she just needed to be near her people.

Her family will miss so many things about her-the cuddles, her kisses, her funny little ways and most of all, that sweet face and those big, beautiful eyes looking back at them.

Run free, sweet Penny Girl. Find the biggest stick, take the best car ride and save a cozy spot for Sophie. We will miss you waiting for us at the window. You will always be loved, always be missed and forever be a part of our family.
