Obituary For Rocky Roncka

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the extraordinary life of Rocky Roncka, a beloved Boxer and American Bulldog mix who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 2, 2026, at the age of 12. Born in Tennessee on September 17, 2014, Rocky's greatest journey began the day he was rescued and welcomed into the loving arms of his forever family.

Known by many affectionate names - including Rocky, Rockstar, Mr. Fuzzy, Boom Boom, Fuzzy, Rah Rah, Fuzzy Boy, Pillow Master and Mama's Big Boy Rocky.

Rocky was the cherished son of John and Robin Roncka and a devoted brother to Layla, John IV and Jenna. His very best friend was his sister, Layla, with whom he shared countless playful adventures and quiet moments. Together with his family, they created a home where Rocky knew only safety, comfort, and unconditional love.

Rescuing Rocky changed everyone's lives. They brought home a frightened little soul who was unsure of the world, and through patience and unwavering love, he blossomed into a confident, gentle and affectionate companion. He grew to understand that he was treasured beyond measure and that home was a place where he would always be protected and adored.

Rocky found happiness in life's simplest pleasures. Anything that squeaked instantly becomes his favorite toy. He loved snuggling with his family, playing with Layla and watching birds from the deck, chasing squirrels through the yard, and soaking up every moment spent with the people he loved most. His gently tail wags, sweet little kisses and gentle spirit brought comfort and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Rocky disliked loud noises and never wanted to be alone. Spicy foods, grapes, onion rings, not receiving enough cookies and treats and being brushed ranked among his least favorite things.

Rocky loved curling up in his fuzzy bed between his parents' chairs, stretching out on the ottoman or spending quiet time in his human siblings' bedrooms. When it came to treats, he never turned down American cheese, steak tips, chicken, vanilla ice cream or even a taste of Dunkin' coffee.

His family will forever treasure memories of watching him run joyfully through the sprinkler, race after squirrels, shower them with gentle kisses, and proudly rule his home as the beloved king of his palace. They will always remember his incredibly soft fuzzy head, his beautiful coat, his fuzzy little feet and the angel-wing markings on his back.

Rocky was never just a pet - he was family, a best friend, a protector and a gentle soul whose love knew no limits.

Run free, sweet Rocky.

Over 12 years together, which is about 4300 days. There's so many memories it's hard to even pick one. But I'll share this, which was a common experience almost daily. My Rocky had so much personality, sometimes I'd swear he's a reincarnated person the way would communicate with us and was so demanding !! One of my favorite things about him was. We'd covered the ottoman from our sectional because even though they had 2 of their own beds he liked sleeping on the ottoman. So he'd ask me Dad can I go nap on the couch, obviously in his own way. I'd tell him go ahead and he'd jump right up. But that wasn't enough, he'd start calling me from across the room verbally. If I didn't feel like getting up he'd keep talking to me and would start waving his paws at me until I'd give in and go love him up while almost on the couch because he knew I couldn't resist him asking me for loving him up and with his beautiful coat especially his neck and chest I couldn't ever say no. I might have enjoyed it as much or maybe even occasionally more than he did !!! But the best of I'll I think was when he was getting older and had difficulty getting up on the couch. I started sleeping on the couch in case he needed me, and when I'd shut everything off I'd occasionally feel his weight gently getting himself up there with me. I have to say we'd both get so excited cuz we both loved it. And we'd snuggle up together and go to sleep till he decided it was time for US to get up !!! lol. Before I go on any further I'll close by saying, Rocky was so special and such an enormous part of my family's life. It's been brutal adjusting to life without him, thankfully we have his beautiful twin sister Leila to help ease our and her pain as well because they were inseparable. I'll never get over losing you Rocky and my life was so much better because you were my everything. May we meet again buddy , if it's possible I know we'll both keep on till one of us finds the other and thats my idea of heaven. Thanks to all of you at faithful friends everyone of you were so kind and understood the tremendous loss we just had. I'd never go anywhere else but hopefully not anytime soon. Thanks fuzzy daddy loves and misses you so much nothings the same without you. πŸΆπŸ™πŸ»
