Obituary For Smokey DeBlois

On September 19th, 2023, beloved pet and family member, Russian Blue cat, Smokey DeBlois aka “Smokey Pie, Smokester, Smokey Smokes” crossed Rainbow Bridge. Smokey lived in his first home, then lived with the Totten family in Johnston before becoming a DeBlois. He is survived by “pet parents” Steve DeBlois and Rebecca DiRuzzo, human brother Ben Deblois and pet sister Bella DeBlois. Smokey’s best friends were Ben, Gabe, and Auntie Randy. His favorite toys when he was younger were his toy trucks and feather toys. He loved strolling around the house, eating and snuggling with his humans. Getting baths and getting old, were Smokey’s least favorite things. He preferred to sleep on Ben while he played games and watched T.V. He enjoyed falling asleep at night on dad Steve and liked sleeping in the front wind sill in the afternoon. Smokey had a comfy bed, but his humans’ beds were preferred. His favorite foods were wet and dry food. He drank a lot of water. He also liked his dry treats. He would also sneak some organic wheat kitty litter from time to time and cheat on his grain free diet. Smokey provided many memories for his family. Some of their favorite memories included how Smokey was first chatty when they first got him, he would meow for minutes on end. He would get into little cat fights with his sister Bella, ager she would attack him. Dad Steve remembers being told that Smokey was “very elusive”, when he picked him up from the Totten family, only to discover that he’s not very mobile at all. Dad’s other favorite memory is bringing Smokey outside, having him sit on his lap while playing games, dressing him up for Halloween in Easter Bunny ears, and always sitting on his best friend Ben’s lap watching tv and videos together. Smokey was, is and forever will be loved.
