Obituary For Teddy Bear Brousseau

Teddy Bear (LaBrecque) Brousseau passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 with his loving parents at his side. He was sixteen years old. Teddy was born in Meherrin, Virginia on March 19, 2005, sent to the Sterling Animal Shelter in Massachusetts, and adopted by his mom at the age of ten weeks on May 28, 2005. Teddy was named for his similarity to a black bear. He was thought to be a Newfoundland, black Labrador, and Chow Chow mixed breed. Teddy happily completed a twelve mile hike on his twelfth birthday in 2017 that weaved through beautiful hills and streams from eastern Connecticut to Rhode Island. Teddy loved his daily walks, hiking, biking, fishing, his bed, chasing squirrels and bunnies, playing with squeaky toys, and traveling with his parents. He has travelled to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Iowa, and Ontario. Teddy was a very happy little boy who just wanted to be included in any activities his parents were doing. He was his moms soul mate, best friend, and son. Teddy was a shining light in every life he came across. He was frequently thought to be a puppy by strangers while on his walks, even on his sixteenth birthday walk. Teddys mom formed her life around him. Her career, home, and hobbies were all chosen with what would give Teddy the best life. Her choices with him in mind led to his two parents meeting and falling in love. Teddy happily welcomed his dad into his life at ten years old. Teddy was the Ring Bear at his parents wedding on November 14, 2020. He was so proud of the perfect job he did in helping to marry his parents. Teddy is survived by his parents Jaclyn (LaBrecque) Brousseau and Peter Brousseau. He is incredibly missed. He will continue to live on in his parents hearts forever. A private service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 to honor him and his incredible life.

My heart breaks with you and for you, Jackie. He will always be a wonderful and irreplaceable piece of your family and a cornerstone of our friendship. He was a great pup and I hope you find some peace knowing youâ??ll always have those memories and he has never truly left you while you remember him. You gave him a wonderful and happy, spoiled life, and he was so lucky to have you as his mommy. I love you so much and Iâ??m sending so much love and strength to you and Pete â?¤ï¸?

My favorite memories of Teddy all involve him being the goodest boy always keeping me company through many (sometimes excruciatingly long) sporting events over the years. There could be no better fluff to sit in the sun with!

In the summertime of 2018 you and Peter invited me over to your house for the first time. After I parked my car and walked up to your front door, I looked to my left and coming around the corner of your house was this big, black, fluffy, mush of a dog. So naturally, my "talking to a cute dog voice" comes out (goes about two octaves up), and he walked right up to me showed me the toy that's in his mouth and just stared right into my eyes. After I gave him my complimentary pet on his noggin, he turned around, walked to the side of the house, stopped, and looked back at me...almost as if to tell me to follow him. So I did and he led me to the backyard where you, Peter and I think a few other people were lounging by your pool. This alone was enough for me to realize how intelligent he was, but it wasn't until after really getting to know him more by seeing him at every volleyball game...every softball game...every outing that I would understand what he really was...a momma's boy lol. He was truly your baby... In all seriousness, Teddy was really something special. In the most simplest of terms and one that he probably heard every day...Teddy was a very good boy. I am so sorry for your loss Jackie and Peter. I'll be sure to hold my dogs more closely tonight. ð??¤

I am deeply saddened to see that Teddy is gone. Teddy brought many happy times to our family and he will be greatly missed. I watched his Mom grow from a 13- year-old to become a very caring and wonderful woman with Teddy right by her side. In his playful way Teddy was always there to put smiles on our faces. Although Teddy has gone, he will always be remembered in our hearts. He was my first Grand Child and he set the bar high for all grandchildren. Jackie, I love you, Mama.

Rest In Peace Teddy. We will miss your visits to the lake where you watched Pete fish off the dock, and your affinity for munching on dried fish, you found under rocks. May heaven be as wonderful as your life you lived on earth with all the love you gave and received.
